From Lihue Airport. Head North on Kuhio Hwy. into the Heart of Kapa'a Town. As you come to the stop light with the ABC Store to your Left (Kukui St) take a left. We're located immediately to your right in the Historic Dragon Building. Additional parking is in the rear of the building. Description: As you stroll in downtown Kapa’a, be sure to visit my favorite restaurant, the 100% vegan, Certified Green, organic oasis of the pacific, the Blossoming Lotus Restaurant. It is the home of Vegan World Fusion Cuisine and with menu items like Senorita Bombita’s Enchilada Casserole, made with baked tempeh, served atop homemade vegan-chocolate mole sauce or a Sunday brunch favorite, the Vegan Omelet with Tofu Bacon, you’ll wonder if all food isn’t supposed to be followed with a euphoric high. Oh, but save room for desert! Live-fudge and a different array of dairy-free homemade ice creams are offered each night in addition to the profusion of mouthwatering deserts offered regularly. Meals here are a great example of the possible healing powers of food. The Blossoming Lotus started as a much smaller restaurant in 2002, which now serves as their juice bar and bakery, called the Lotus Root, located across the street (also serving gourmet vegan and live-food delectables from 7:00am-6:00pm seven days a week). With the restaurant owners’ food philosophy of raising community and consciousness as a foundation, the Blossoming Lotus has grown to become an institution on Kaua’i and a model for supporting local organic farmers and more sustainable food systems. The ambiance is warm and relaxed. Guests can chose to sit indoors, amongst local art and live music or outdoors on the patio, a perfect place for taking in Kauai’s temperate seasons in the outdoor tropical garden. If you get a hankering for live food or vegan cuisine while on the mainland, a new Blossoming Lotus Café has just opened in Portland, Oregon or visitors can bring home a cookbook to share with all your family, friends, and neighbors wherever you call home!
