Description:
Located in the heart of Kailua, on the windward side of Oahu, Cinnamons is well known for its wide array of breakfast items and was voted one of Hawaii’s Best Restaurants by the Honolulu Advertiser. Even on the weekends, when the lines are long and so are the waiting times (they serve an average of 500 customers on Sundays), the atmosphere is friendly and Cinnamons offers coffee and newspapers to their customers while they wait to be seated. As an establishment that prides itself on fresh food cooked each day from scratch, come early to avoid disappointment. This is where the locals of Kailua come for breakfast and to hang out. The atmosphere is very family oriented. You immediately get the impression that customers are important to Cinnamons. It’s not uncommon to see staff greeting their customers by name. There is seating either inside the restaurant, or in an indoor courtyard. Inside, the décor gives a warm feeling, as though you were having breakfast in a conservatory or sunroom, with lots of plants, and even a gazebo in the centre of the restaurant, where you can also be seated.

Cinnamon’s is most famous for their eggs benedict, pancakes and omelets and they don’t disappoint. The thing that makes their eggs benedict most remarkable is the choices it comes with. You can have it traditional style (with Canadian bacon and turkey), vegetarian (with spinach and tomatoes), served with Lox or Mahi Mahi, or even a combination. Other great items on their menu are their banana pancakes, made with fresh bananas actually mixed into the batter. Both are very tasty and very filling, and like most of the items on the menu, is great value for your money. In addition, you can have most items either as a full order or half order.

Breakfast is not the only thing that Cinnamons provides. Their lunch menu begins at 11am, with a delicious selection of lunch platters, homemade chili and hamburgers. They also serve dinner from Thursday-Saturday, which runs 5.30-8.30pm and includes prime ribs and fresh fish with signature sauces, all at very reasonable prices, that will keep you coming back for more. But the real reason to come to Cinnamons is for the atmosphere.

On Thursday April 5 2007 I was a guest of my father who lives in Kailua. Along with my sons family I was making my first visit to Hawaii and to Cinnamons... It was an absolute delight and I found the Prime Rib to be the "BEST" I have ever had, hands down to any where else. I will definitly make this a place to return when I come back to O`ahu. If only I knew of a place that serves prime rib as well in Calif`s. central valley !!!! Mahalo to the chef!!
