Excuse me for bothering you with this letter. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Gabriela Gonzalez, I am Paraguayan and I am working four years ago for Mr Nicolas Leoz, President of the South American Football Confederation. I am his assistant in this institution, and I am working as well for the stevia company he owns.
Nicolas Leoz Company’s name is NL STEVIA. This company cultivates the Stevia plant and produces its crystallization for exporting abroad.
Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni is an original plant from Paraguay. The substance is taken from the interior of the leaf. The stevia is 200 to 400 times sweeter than sugar and it doesn’t have calories. You can use it for food, for exemple: for drinks, ice screams, sweets and other things. In the United States the consumption was not allowed before, it was used only as a supplement. However now the consumption of stevia is free, because JECFA (Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives)determined that it doesn’t have side effects for the health and it is good for diabetic people.
Cargill the American company of cereals and stevia producer, is collaborating with Coca Cola to expand the stevia market in the USA.
NL Stevia was founded on the 17 of august 2005 in Ypakarai city, Paraguay, Southamerica. Nowadays the company is cultivating in several fields of Paraguay, with more than 1000 ha. It is storing actually 1200 tons of raw material.
The Stevia factory was opened on december. It is equipped with very modern technology and it is producing crystallized powder respecting the hygiene rules . In the next year NL Stevia will extract 200 to 250 tons of crystallized stevia.
At the present the company is preparing a brochure and a web site, which will be ready by January, we will inform you as soon as it is ready if you are interested..
