Review

Not big or fancy, Julie’Z is a tiny restaurant located in a small shopping center on the leeward side of O’ahu. The restaurant is plain and functional with just the simplest of cultural adornments with lots of free and easy to find parking just outside. The Kapolei restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is especially busy during the lunch hour when the construction crews from nearby construction sites wander in out of the tropical sun to regroup, relax and re-energize. The menu is simple and very inexpensive and expansive selections that range from traditional Filipino flavors to local island favorites.

Breakfast selections include breakfast specials of steak, a Filipino sausage called loganiza, grilled adobo, or ham steak. All breakfast plates include two eggs and a choice of rice, hash brown, hot cakes or toast. Also on the breakfast menu are fried rice omelettes which are a choice of adobo and rice or longaniza and rice rolled up in egg. Also on the menu are local favorites like sweet bread French toast, and spam and eggs.

Lunch and dinner time at the restaurant reveals a more traditional menu along with local plate lunch standards. Combination plates or adobo, pinakbet, pinapaitan are popular. Pancit, a Filipino version of fried noodles and pork gisantes, a pork stew with peas are very tasty. Also on the menu are local-style plate lunch with beef teriyaki or pork chops.

Also quite unique is the buffet table. Available at lunch and dinner only, the buffet is popular with eat on the run crowd where all you can eat selections are always hot and ready to enjoy.

Small and unpretentious Julie’Z is an enjoyable spot with great tasting Filipino food, inexpensive prices and a great local atmosphere.

Directions

From the H1 westbound, take the Makakilo off ramp. Turn right at the light and right onto Farrington Highway. Turn right at the second light and the restaurant is in the middle of the parking lot on the right hand side.

this restraurant is GREAT..i eat there Ralphs Omelette every week, it includes spam, bacon, ham, and fishcake...wrapped in egg...THERE AWESOME =)
