Review

One of Oahu’s local landmarks, this restaurant has been a popular spot for Hawaii residents and visitors since 1979. Located along a back street in Kakaako behind the old Fisherman’s Wharf and adjacent to Kakaako Waterfront Park, this restaurant has valet parking and lots of ample free parking. The restaurant sits high above the entrance of Kewalo Basin where many local tour boats and fishing boats call home. The dining room has a commanding view of the harbor entrance, the nearby popular surfing spot Point Panic, south shore Oahu skyline, turquoise waters of the shoreline beaches and Diamond Head. The interior is warm and inviting with an atmosphere that is not too formal or informal with clean modern lines, dark tropical hardwoods and lava rock walls. The restaurant features a split level design with the lounge and bar area toward the entrance and the dining room below with floor to ceiling windows that embrace the views and where fishing and tour boats seems to jump out at you as they make their way through the harbor entrance.

The restaurant has one of the best seafood menus on the island. Their fish is the freshest of fish from island waters and is creatively and tastefully prepared to perfection. Menu selections include your choice of Onaga, Opakapaka & Mahi Mahi sautéed, flame broiled, en papillote or steamed. Other items include Macadamia Nut Crusted Stuffed Opakapaka, Fresh Live Maine Lobster and seasonal Abalone with White Wine and Capers.

The restaurant also is known for their fabulous Sunday Brunches. It’s a favorite spot for local families and friends gather to celebrate birthdays anniversaries and other special occasions. Brunches are hugely popular so reservations in advance are highly recommended.
